Common Beauty Secrets of the Common Teenage Girl

Is there anything more difficult than being a teenage girl? There is the constant stress of staying ahead of everyone else when it comes to fashion choices and what to wear. There is also the endless amount of decisions they need to make about their makeup. The choice of makeup they wear for the day has all sorts of different factors playing a part.

A teenage girl needs to think about what kind of outfit they’ll be wearing, what clothes they think their friends will be wearing and the complexion of the face. The wrong choice of color can ruin a perfectly planned day. The right choice can lead to an exciting and eventful afternoon.

Leading beauty experts have researched and read all the leading fashion magazines looking for as much information as possible on the latest beauty product and the most fun beauty tips. They are excited to bring you this list of the most looked over beauty secrets for teenagers to follow. Here are some beauty secrets and makeup tips every teenager should know.

1. Skip the foundation – For all of you with acne reading this, the best thing I can recommend is to avoid putting on a thick foundation no matter what. You’ll only clog your pores up and make it worse. Another reason to avoid foundation is that it will cover up your natural, youthful beauty. It’s made for women in the 40’s, not teenagers. If you have a few blemishes, cover them up with concealer, then follow with a powder.

2. Pat concealer in, never rub it in – As you apply concealer, put a bit on the pad of your middle finger and pat it in. Try not to rub it in. It will cause you some problems by clogging pores.

3. Play up your lips or your eyes, never both – Use a nude lip color with a touch of gloss if you will be wearing heavy eye makeup. Keep your face light toned, avoiding heavy blush and wear only mascara on your eyes and a light eyeshadow if you want to wear a dark lipstick. You’ll end up looking like a circus clown by playing up both eyes and lips.

4. Acne – The biggest mistake I see most teenagers make when they suffer from acne is not seeing a professional about it. All the nice clothes in the world won’t make a difference if people can’t take their eyes off your face to notice.

5. Less is more – Don’t you hate those girls who look beautiful no matter how little makeup they wear? There is a reason for that. Less makeup brings out more of your natural beauty. This pertains to women of all ages. Too much makeup makes you look worse. Take it down a notch. Really, all you need is some great mascara, concealer for acne and gloss and you’ll set.

6. Natural hair is always hot – I see entirely too many teenage girls screw around with their hair color and end up with making a mess. By lightening your hair too many shades above what it is looks tacky and cheap. You want to leave people with the impression that you were born with that beach sun-kissed look with your hair.

7. Vaseline is your best friend – Throw away all those expensive bottled cleaners and buy some Vaseline. It is hands down the best eye makeup remover you can find. It's also great for healing chapped lips. Get some Vaseline on a toothbrush and massage your lips with it. Your lips will be smooth and soft.

8. Layers are great for any hair type – It doesn’t matter if you have curly, straight or wavy hair. Layers will give thin hair the appearance of being thicker, curly hair seem manageable and wavy hair the talk of the town sexy.

9. Spend money on key beauty products – Cheap makeup products are just that, cheap. They are made from cheaper, low quality products and are not good for your skin. Pay that little extra for good eye shadow, facial moisturizer, powder, self-tanner or lipstick. Don't waste your time or money on fancy mascaras, cleansers, eye liners or lip gloss. There isn’t much of a zdifference for these products.
